General Q&A for items that may not be on the agenda: Marshfield SEPAC made general inquiry about our website and speakers.
Director of Student Services: No report.
School Committee Liaison: Ed indicated interest in attending the proposed ADHD workshop (see new business). He would like to present an update from SNAP at the school committee meeting scheduled for August 20. Marisa will assist with that, and she will also provide a year-end summary of SEPAC activity. Ed will advise if a presentation at the meeting is feasible. There was general discussion about the proposed athletic fields at the new middle school.
Treasury Report: The SEPAC account balance is $11,124.50. There is no update concerning HPS new business contact person. One of three grant recipients has made a purchase (math games). Marisa will coordinate reimbursement. SEPAC is waiting on the other two awardees to initiate purchases.
New Business: Laine Dougherty, a CHADD coach, would like SEPAC to sponsor an ADHD Parent training course (7 weeks/2 hours per session) in Hingham. There is no cost to SEPAC, but participants will pay a course fee. It is unclear if participants will first need to join the CHADD organization. The program will likely start in late September. SEPAC will also look into having Laine present her talk “Ending Homework Hassles”nas a back to school evening event for parents. Other presentations SEPAC will look into include those offered by Massachusetts Advocates for Children and South Shore Therapies in Weymouth.
