Ages: 3-6 (potty-trained)When: Wednesdays, 9:00-11:30amJuly 10th-August 14thCost: $180 (20% sibling discount)The best of both worlds! Each week children will enjoy ART CLASSES (painting, drawing, messy art), MUSIC CLASSES (sing, dance, play instruments), SNACK (provided by us), and FREE PLAY (choose between music or art free play time). Snack, instruments, and art materials are provided.

Ages: Elementary, Middle/High School Students with special needsWhen: Fridays, 9:00am-12:00pm (Elementary)1:00pm-4:00pm (Middle/High School)July 12th-August 16thCost: $240 (20% sibling discount)The best of both worlds! Each week kids and teens will take part in an ART CLASS (painting, drawing, weaving, etc.), MUSIC CLASS (play instruments, sing, dance), and have choice time where they will get to choose a music or art activity they want to participate in. Snacks, instruments, art materials, and more are provided. Facilitated by music therapists, art specialists, and special educators and offered in conjunction with South Shore Support Services.

Ages: Adults (18+) with special needsWhen: Mondays, 6:00-6:45pmCost: $144 + $20 materials fee (8-week session) Structured as an open-art class. Students will have the opportunity to choose projects and explore painting and weaving. Weaving will take place on the floor loom, hand looms, and with a variety of materials. Students interested in painting will learn about different styles/artists and be given the opportunity to paint in various styles. $20 materials feeDRUMMING and JAMMINGAges: Adults (18+) with special needsWhen: Tuesdays, 5:30-6:15pmCost: $144 (8-week session)Enjoy making music with others, as we sing songs and play percussion instruments. Take part in a weekly drum circle that promotes socialization and engagement with others. Students will play a variety of hand drums from all over the world, as well as other percussion instruments such as shakers, bells, guiros, and more!
PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
Ages: 3-adults (you are never too old to learn something new!)When: offered various times, depending on teacher and student schedulesCost: $30/30 min, $45/45 min, $60/60 min (meets weekly)Spend that extra time you have this summer to learn a new instrument or revisit an old one! Our instructors will take the time to get to know you and create an enjoyable and rewarding experience as you embark on a musical journey together. Piano, voice, violin, and guitar lessons available. Small groups can also be accommodated!

The South Shore YMCA has several offerings for special needs participants. You don't have to be a member of the "Y" to sign up for classes: Special Abilities Initiative in collaboration with the Cardinal Cushing School; Special Needs Swim Lessons-Hope Fish; and Special Needs Tennis Clinic. Bridges to Independence: Work, Friendship, Life
Participants learn and practice Life, Work, and Social Skills with other teens and young adults. Bridges to Independence provides instruction in the skills necessary for increased living independence and vocational success, as well as structured social and recreational opportunities.

Our newest program is designed for teens and young adults with high functioning aspergers, ADHD, and/or learning disabilities. This program is designed to support these individuals in a vital part of successful transition to adult life. This program provides instruction and practice in skills for independent living, college success, career planning, as well as social skills for full community participation.

Bridges to Independence: Work, Friendship, Life
Participants learn and practice Life, Work, and Social Skills with other teens and young adults. Bridges to Independence provides instruction in the skills necessary for increased living independence and vocational success, as well as structured social and recreational opportunities.
- Program meets Saturdays from 10 am-2 pm.
- For teens and adults aged 14-35. Participants will be grouped by age and gender.

Athletes for Autism: Boston, MA. Athletes 4 Autism, a program of The Autism Research Foundation, gives sport-mentoring sessions with professional-level athletes for a 100% tax-deductible, $60.00 donation for kids with and without autism. Athletes 4 Autism provides the facilities, equipment and a one-on-one session with a trained athlete. Learn fundamental skills, the rules of the game, and some of their mentor’s secrets to success. Participants can choose if they want to work with one or more athlete individually, or learn in a group. Sports offered: lacrosse, crew, ice hockey, soccer, swimming, track and field, baseball, softball, tennis, wrestling. A certified EMT monitors each session to ensure that athletes play in secure conditions.

TOPSoccer: The Outreach Program for Soccer - Is a learning/playing program for youths with physical or mental disabilities.
